Learning Didn't Take a Vacation: Mount View's Thoughtfully Designed Holiday Homework Wins Hearts

This year’s summer holiday homework reflected a simple but powerful idea: children learn best when education feels meaningful, manageable and connected to real life. Rather than overwhelming students with lengthy academic tasks, the holiday homework focused on age-appropriate activities that encouraged curiosity, creativity, observation, life skills, responsibility and family participation.

Our youngest learners watered plants, explored shapes in clouds, visited parks and learned through playful experiences. Primary students documented shopping trips, cared for birds, developed healthy eating habits, observed weather patterns and built confidence through speaking activities. Senior students engaged in scientific exploration, financial literacy exercises, environmental projects, newspaper analysis, nutrition studies and innovative exhibition models.

These are not just school tasks. They are stepping stones toward becoming thoughtful and capable individuals.

The goal was simple: to keep learning joyful, relevant and connected to everyday life.

At Mount View, we believe that a child grows beautifully when school and home move together in the same direction. That is why we are deeply grateful to our parents for their support, encouragement and cooperation. When the child, teacher and parent work as one team, every child benefits.

This World Environment Day, Mount View Students Learnt, "The Earth does not belong to us; we belong to the Earth."

On 5 June 2026 Mount View students were encouraged to become caretakers of the planet rather than mere observers. Through thoughtful reflections and creative expression, students explored what our planet might be asking of us today—before tomorrow’s challenges become irreversible.

Our holiday assignments reinforced this ecological empathy. Class 2 students maintained a “Mini Garden Diary” to carefully observe their growing seeds. Class 4 students stepped up to build simple bird feeders to care for birds during the hot summer. Class 8 students illustrated the importance of conservation by creating a comic strip titled “A Day Without Electricity”. This creative empathy helps children deeply connect with real-world ecological challenges. One particularly meaningful activity invited students to imagine a future world and write a letter from the Earth of 2050 to today’s children. Through their words, students explored real environmental concerns such as pollution, climate change, water conservation and protection of natural resources.

The First Hero, The Quietest Cheerleader This Father's Day, Mount View Students Honour Fathers Through Thoughtful Acts of Gratitude.

A father is perhaps the most ordinary-looking superhero a child will ever know. He works tirelessly, worries silently, sacrifices willingly and loves unconditionally. He rarely seeks recognition and often remains the least celebrated member of the family, despite being one of its strongest pillars.

While fathers deserve appreciation every day, Father’s Day creates a meaningful pause in a child’s busy world so that they can reflect and appreciate the sacrifices that often happen behind the scenes and the dreams that fathers set aside so their children can chase their own.

This Father’s Day, Mount View students expressed their love in the most meaningful way possible—through genuine appreciation.

Across different classes, children prepared: Handprint cards, Memory jars, badges,

greeting cards, poems, handwritten letters and thoughtful surprises. The focus was not on expensive gifts but on heartfelt expressions. The purpose was to help children understand an important life lesson: gratitude should be expressed, not merely felt.

At Mount View, we believe that gratitude is a value best learned early. By celebrating Father’s Day, we help children understand that behind every confident step they
take is someone who has been
quietly walking beside them
all along.

International Yoga Day

Physical well-being and mental wellness remain essential parts of holistic education at Mount View.

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, students were guided to practice simple yoga poses at home, in parks or on terraces, with family supervision and safe surroundings. The initiative aimed to encourage physical fitness, emotional balance, better concentration, self-discipline and healthy lifestyle habits.

Yoga teaches children a valuable lesson—that strength comes not only from the body but also from a calm and focused mind. As screens become a larger part of everyday life, yoga serves as a reminder of the importance of balance, movement and inner peace.

A peaceful child grows into a focused learner and a happier human being.

What Happens at School During the Summer Break? More Than the Eye Can See

While students and families enjoyed the holiday season, the school remained active behind the scenes. Summer break is not simply a pause for an institution; it is a time of preparation, care and renewal. Classrooms are checked, repaired and refreshed. Desks and boards are readied. Corners are deep-cleaned. Laboratory equipment are inspected, serviced and made ready.

Library books are carefully organised, while toys and learning resources used by our youngest learners are cleaned, sanitised and arranged with care. Essential work continues so that when children return, they step into an environment that is safe, welcoming, organised and ready for learning. Our transport fleet receives special attention.

Every school bus and van undergoes thorough cleaning, maintenance and safety checks to ensure reliable and secure journeys. We say this with humility and sincerity — the work done during summer may not always be visible, but it is always valuable. At Mount View, caring for education means caring for every detail.

The Wait Is Almost Over: School Reopens on 2 July 2026

The classrooms are ready.

The corridors are waiting.

The playgrounds are eager to hear laughter again.

As we prepare to welcome our students back, we look forward to hearing stories of summer adventures, environmental projects, family moments and new discoveries.

We can’t wait to see our Mount View family together again.
