Our Pedagogy
"We don't believe in fitting every child into one educational philosophy. We believe education should adapt to the child—not the other way around."
Because No Two Children Learn the Same Way
For over a century, the educational world has searched for the single, perfect pedagogy. We stopped looking—because it doesn’t exist. Education has evolved through many remarkable philosophies. Montessori taught us independence. Reggio Emilia celebrated curiosity. Waldorf nurtured imagination. Inquiry-based learning encouraged questioning. Experiential learning made knowledge meaningful. Competency-based education shifted focus from marks to mastery.
Each philosophy contributes something valuable. Yet none of them fully represents every child. So, we use them as tools and not rules.
At Mount View International School, we believe that children are not designed to fit into a pedagogy. Pedagogy should evolve around the child. That belief forms the foundation of our teaching philosophy.
We Don't Teach a Curriculum. We Teach a Child.
Every classroom has children who think differently. Some understand by listening. Some by observing. Some by questioning. Some by doing. Some by creating. Some by teaching others. Some need more time. Some need greater challenges. Some discover their talents naturally. Some discover them only when someone believes in them.
Instead of expecting every child to learn the same lesson in the same way on the same day, we continually adapt our teaching to help each learner reach the destination through the path that suits them best.
Wherever needed, Mount View teachers provide:
- Additional support when required
- Greater enrichment for advanced learners
- Alternative explanations
- Multiple learning pathways
- Opportunities for revision
- Opportunities for extension
Because equality in education does not mean treating every child identically. It means giving every child what they need to succeed.
Our Pedagogy is Child-Responsive
Rather than following one rigid educational system, we thoughtfully combine the strengths of multiple globally respected approaches. This allows learning to become more meaningful, more personalised, and more effective. Our eclectic, hybrid pedagogy answers directly to the student sitting in front of us.
We Inspire Curiosity. Our classrooms encourage observation, exploration, experimentation and inquiry because genuine understanding grows from wondering.
We Learn by Doing. Children remember much of what they experience. Concepts come alive through experiments, projects, demonstrations, field experiences, role play, collaborative activities, and hands-on exploration.
We Recognise Different Types of Intelligence. Success cannot be measured by one examination. Every child possesses different strengths. Our classrooms create multi-dimensional opportunities for children to discover abilities they may never have known they possessed.
We Believe Learning is Personal. Children of the same age may not learn at the same pace. That is not weakness. That is individuality.
We Teach Beyond the Textbook. Books introduce knowledge. Life builds wisdom. We extend learning through discussions, current affairs, real-world applications, environmental awareness, community engagement, problem solving and interdisciplinary learning.
We do not believe there is one perfect pedagogy. We believe there is one perfect approach—the one that helps a child learn. That is why our classrooms are flexible.
Our teaching is intentional. Our expectations are high. And our methods evolve continuously with every child we teach.
